Privacy Policy
The short version
We collect what we need to run the app — your account basics, the league data you choose to connect, and standard usage and device information. We never sell your personal information, we never ask for your fantasy-platform passwords or any sportsbook credentials, and payments run through the app stores, so we never see your card number. Email us anytime to access or delete your data. This summary is for convenience; the full policy below is what governs.
1.Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Teach the Game Fantasy LLC ("TTG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Teach The Game Fantasy mobile application, the website at teachthegamefantasy.com (including our release-updates list), and all related features and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy and to our Terms & Conditions.
2.Information We Collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Account information. When you create an account — including through a third-party sign-in service such as Google or Apple — we receive information such as your name, email address, and other profile details you authorize that service to share.
- Release-updates list. If you sign up on the website for updates on the app's release, we collect the email address you submit.
- Preferences and inputs. Settings and content you enter in the app, such as your sports, favorite teams, watchlists, cheat-sheet adjustments, and notes.
- Communications. The contents of messages you send us, such as support requests and feedback.
b. League data you choose to connect
- With your authorization, we access data about your fantasy leagues from the third-party platform that hosts them (for example, Sleeper, ESPN, or Yahoo), such as league settings and scoring rules, rosters, matchups, standings, and transaction activity. We use platform-supported authorization mechanisms; we do not collect or store your passwords for those platforms.
c. Information collected automatically
- Device and app data. Device type and model, operating system, app version, language, and device or advertising identifiers as permitted by your settings.
- Usage data. Interactions with the Service, such as screens viewed, features used, and session information, collected through analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Approximate location. A general (city-level) location inferred from your IP address, used for content relevance, security, and compliance. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Diagnostics. Crash logs and performance data used to keep the Service stable.
3.Information We Do Not Collect
Worth knowing
We do not ask for, collect, or store: your passwords for fantasy platforms; any sportsbook or gambling account credentials or balances; your payment card numbers (purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own terms and privacy policies); or your precise GPS location.
4.How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service — including draft tools, roster and matchup guidance, waiver and trade features, league synchronization, Line Pulse market information, and Academy content;
- To personalize your experience, such as tailoring features to your leagues, scoring settings, and sports;
- To communicate with you about the Service, including service announcements, security notices, support responses, and — if you signed up for release updates or otherwise opted in — launch and product updates;
- To monitor performance, debug, and improve the Service, including through aggregated and de-identified analysis;
- To protect the security and integrity of the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
5.How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors that perform services on our behalf — such as cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), analytics, email delivery, and crash reporting — under obligations to use the information only to provide those services to us.
- Legal reasons. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TTG, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case the successor will be bound by this Policy or one at least as protective, and we will notify you of any material change in ownership or use of your personal information.
- At your direction. When you ask or authorize us to share information.
- Aggregated or de-identified data. We may share information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
6.Advertising and Analytics
The Service does not currently display targeted (interest-based) advertising, and no advertising partner has access to your personal information. We use analytics providers, such as Google Analytics, to understand how the Service is used; these providers process usage data on our behalf as described in Section 5. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this Policy first and provide any notices and choices required by applicable law.
7.Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain secure backups (which are purged on a routine schedule). Release-updates email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or our launch communications conclude. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8.Data Security
Your information is stored on Amazon Web Services infrastructure located in the United States. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported, and access controls limiting who can reach personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
9.Your Rights and Choices
- Marketing emails. Every marketing or waitlist email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Opting out of marketing does not affect service or security communications.
- Push notifications and permissions. You can manage notifications and app permissions in your device settings at any time.
- League connections. You can disconnect a linked league at any time in the app, which stops further synchronization of that league's data.
- U.S. state privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as the right to know, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not "sell" personal information or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable state law. You may exercise these rights, or appeal a decision, by emailing legal@teachthegamefantasy.com; authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.
10.Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, please contact us at legal@teachthegamefantasy.com and we will delete it promptly.
11.International Users
We are based in the United States, and the Service is operated from and hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
12.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as appropriate under the circumstances — for example, by in-app notice or email — and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after a revised Policy takes effect means you accept it.
